Eight dead after shooting in Atlanta

Robert Aaron Long, of Woodstock Georgia, has been charged with murder for killing 8 people in massage parlours in Atlanta. As 6 women of Asian descent were killed in the shooting, it is suspected that the man's actions were racially motivated, although he has denied these claims. The tragedy sparked a vigil in Washington DC's Chinatown, which almost a hundred people attended. Heartbroken members of the Asian minority wanted to mourn the lives lost in Atlanta and speak up about racism directed towards Asians and Asian-Americans in the USA.

Considering not all of the victims were of Asian descent, I doubt the man was driven by racial hatred. I hope his intentions will soon be revealed and he will receive adequate punishment.

  1. I think this news begs for a more in-depth comment.
What are the chances that the man was religiously motivated? Massage parlours are after all places of sin.
