Is lying morally wrong?

Lying is an inseparable part of human nature. We start to lie at an age as young as six months old. In a ten minute conversation an average person will lie three times.
As to answering the question in the title, I think lying is morally wrong, although there are situations in which not telling the truth is justifiable. For instance, it is all right to lie in order to prevent hurting one’s feelings or avoiding conflict. This type of lie called a “white lie”. I believe in terms of lying it is crucial to think about the consequences of the act and making the decision based on that.
